Resolution Check

I started P90X today in order to keep my New Year's commitment of getting into the best shape of my life. It's brutal. This was my cool-down routine:

I love P90X, but even so, I have the urge to smack all of those people in the informercial for being too damn chipper about it (I wouldn't smack them all at once, I think that'd be a mistake). I'm committed to this thing for the full 90 days or until I tear my groin, which should be around the third day, so for the time being, I'll refer to this program as P3X.
That updates you on item #5 on my New Years resolutions list. How am I doing on the other eight items, you ask? God, you're nosey.
well, resolutions 1-3 involve traveling, and those trips are scheduled for later in the year, so I an update is not applicable. I do plan on visiting Boston at the end of February to see my sister and college friends.
Resolution 4, get Lucy Clayfoot published is in motion. I wrote an all new opening chapter that I like and I'm revising the rest of the book over the next few weeks. During the process I've been doing some online research and I came across this amazing video of an owl that can out-transform Optimus Prime. Watch the whole thing from beginning to end.

Resolution #6, make a living from my design company,is something that I'm always vigilant about, but realistically won't take off the way I'd like until the spring when businesses in Myrtle Beach reopen and find themselves in need of promotional material and websites. I've started posting on Craigslist again and I had business cards made up so I'm ready to roll. In the meantime I supplement with other work.
Resolution 7, read more. I've had my nose buried in Jim Lynch's The Highest Tide, which is a fantastic book. I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Steinbeck's Cannery Row or possibly Sachar's Holes.

Resolution 8, hold a Giant Chinese Salamander. Well, I found a toad burrow in my backyard. Baby steps.
Resolution 9, blog more. Um...this is my first blog since I listed it as a resolution, so you can say this one was an epic fail. I'm writing, just not blogging like I should. I'll try to do better, because I'm the one who benefits from the effort.

So how are YOU doing with your resolutions? Hmmm?

  1. I love reading your blog...very funny. I'm a P90x fan too. First time I did Plyometrics is when I discovered I have pulses in my groin. I drowned in my own sweat literally.
    Keep blogging...makes me happy.
